CHICKEN CORDON BLEU LASAGNA

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  1. Cook the Lasagna Noodles:
  • Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  1. Prepare the Sauce:
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour to make a roux and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually whisk in the milk and chicken broth, continuing to stir until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and stir in 1/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese. Set the sauce aside.
  1. Assemble the Lasagna:
  • In the prepared baking dish, spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
  • Add a layer of shredded chicken, then a layer of sliced ham. Sprinkle a layer of shredded Swiss cheese over the ham. Pour a little more sauce over the cheese.
  • Repeat layers twice more: noodles, chicken, ham, Swiss cheese, and sauce.
  1. Top with Cheese:
  • For the final layer, place 3 more lasagna noodles on top and cover with the remaining sauce. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top.
  1. Bake:
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  1. Serve:
  • Once baked, let the lasagna sit for about 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Tips:

  • You can use rotisserie chicken for convenience or leftover cooked chicken.
  • For a crispier top, you can broil the lasagna for the last 2-3 minutes of baking, but be sure to watch it closely.
