Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the pasta shells and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Drain the pasta and set it aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Beef
- In a large skillet or saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute, stirring frequently.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet if necessary.
Step 3: Build the Sauce
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir in the beef broth and tomato sauce.
- Add the paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
- Allow the mixture to simmer gently for 5 minutes to develop flavor.
Step 4: Make it Creamy
- Lower the heat to low and slowly stir in the heavy cream.
- Add the shredded cheddar cheese, a little at a time, stirring constantly to ensure it melts evenly.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings if needed.
Step 5: Combine with Pasta
- Add the cooked pasta shells to the skillet and gently toss to coat them in the creamy beef sauce.
- If using optional vegetables, stir them in at this stage and let them cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Step 6: Serve
- Transfer the Creamy Beef and Shells to a serving bowl or plate.
- Garnish with additional shredded cheese or fresh parsley if desired.
